An awesome "Le French May" night

We're having a great time at Le French May at Queen Elizabeth Stadium tonight. Tho our performance wasn’t perfect, the flow of the performance is kind of tight, and we’ve got a very lovely crowd. What an awesome crowd.

Pretty happy with the Le French May arrangement for performing acts. Food, drinks, and a proper resting room at back stage have indeed helped a lot with our performance. With good preparations before the performance, We're all feeling pretty comfy on stage, tho some little technical problems appeared. It’s still quite cool in general.

One of the funniest things of the night was, we all had to rush down to the “autograph counter” to autograph right after our set. And before the rest of the guys got there, Kento was the only one sitting there, being surrounded by a pretty huge crowd with cameras, looking quite helpless.

Actually it's been a great time meeting the audience and getting to know how they feel about our stuff. Autographing is just a bonus to us (as we've never expected there'd be anyone who'd want to have our autographs). Having a chance to meet our audience is what really matters.

It's been a great time working with Le French May and Love Da Records. They've done a very good job on running the whole showdown, and have made everything go so smoothly. We really appreciate it.

DD/MM/YYYY

Last friday we've headed to the Kung's Street Music Concert outside Hong Kong Art Center, and have discovered a real cool band from Vancouver, Canada called DD/MM/YYYY.

It's a 5-piece art rock/experimental band with a guitarist/vocal, a bassist, a synthesizer guy, a percussionist and a drummer. Their sound is actually pretty unique, with massive creative rhythms and arrangements. It's real interesting to see how the drummer and the percussionist, who only have a snare and a hi-hat, experiment and co-operate to work out some real cool rhythm. It's definitely not some easy-listening stuff but for sure we've got so inspired by their music. We've found it so interesting how their music had triggered our minds to start to think. What a brilliant and energetic live performance they've offered. So after checking them out at the Street Music Concert, we've even gone to the Cavern on the same night to check them out once more.

If you're into creative and experimental indie sounds which push to the limit, DD/MM/YYYY is definitely a band that you shouldn't miss.

RTHK Interview

Last saturday we've headed to RTHK for an interview about our upcoming performance at Le French May. Alongside with the Love Da Record personnels Sanchun and James, we've been having some nice time chatting with Leung Dont, as well as played an acoustic version of Number One at the studio.

The radio show is called "四手亂彈" and will be played at RTHK2 from 20:00 to 21:00.

Time to move on to the next record

It's already been 5 months since we've released our debut album "The King Lost His Pink". It's time to move on to the next record. After all the joy and excitement we've had for our previous album, we'll soon be away from stage, locking ourselves up in studio once again, to work on new materials for our next record.

Meanwhile we'll be having only 2 more upcoming gigs, including the TIME OUT'S BIG NIGHT OUT on 24 APRIL featuring the Time Out's top 10 indie acts in town, and the LE FRENCH MAY MUSICAL SHOWDOWN 2010 on 5 JUNE featuring famous acts from France including THE TEENAGERS, WAX TAILOR and COCOON.

Feel like I was right next to you

I used to google "CHOCHUKMO" regularly, not for ego-searching, but mostly for any released review, press, or comments. But what interested me the most are, the different blogs of strangers that talks about Chochukmo. Well, it might sound freaky but when i wasn't too busy, I would clicked into those blogs to see what they were talking about. And this is how I've been reading many different touching stories.

"A girl spent her lonely valentine's day with 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 TO YOU. Another girl doing her final sprint on her revision the night before her exam, with the cheering of HEAD TO TOE. A guy/girl who feel his/her peace when he/she's listening to TILL LATE NO MAY. And more."

All those stories might sound ordinary, might sound routine or not special at all. But to me, all those stories are touching. I did feel like i was next to them, sharing those particular moments. We didn't really know each others, but because of the music, we're somehow connected. It's a connection which goes beyond time and space. It's a bonding among us which is precious. This is the music I always love to write, the music that can actually talk to people, and connect with people.

Eco-friendly Cyberport

We're having a great time at the OFTEN Fair last weekend. The nice weather with sunshine, live music, and all the activities which promotes eco-friendly and oragnic life has made the last weekend perfect. Tho the OFTEN Fair has come to an end, it's time for all of us to start to concern more about the environment around us, and concern more about the FAIR TRADE. We just hope we can have more of this kind of events in Hong Kong, to promote and educate the next generation about how to preserve and cherish our planet earth.

GOOD WORK OFTEN 2010. Hope it's not long till OFTEN 2011.
